Love Your Body, Love Your Life
FACING THE MIRROR
I’ll never forget the days when I’d stand in front of the mirror, picking myself apart. All I saw were flaws—fat, wobbly bits, and a woman who looked tired and worn down. The voice in my head was cruel: “You’re ugly. You’re failing.”
This negativity wasn’t just about my body. It seeped into everything—my relationship with food, my confidence, and the way I showed up in life. What I didn’t realise then was that my relationship with my body was the missing piece.
STEPS TO START LOVING YOUR BODY
1. Practice Mirror Work
This step changed everything for me. Stand in front of the mirror every morning, look into your own eyes, and say something kind like, “You’re enough.” At first, it might feel uncomfortable, but over time, you’ll begin to see yourself differently.
2. Learn to Receive Compliments
How often do you deflect compliments? Next time someone praises you, simply smile and say, “Thank you.” Practice this with yourself too. Compliments, whether from others or yourself, help rewrite the negative scripts in your mind.
TRANSFORM YOUR REFLECTION, TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE.
3. Create Healthy Rituals
Loving your body isn’t just about kind words—it’s about consistent care. Small, loving habits like drinking more water, taking a walk, or cooking a meal can transform how you feel about yourself.
CONNECT THE DOTS BETWEEN FOOD AND FEELINGS
4. Connect the Dots Between Food and Feelings
Emotional eating isn’t about hunger; it’s about emotions. Next time you reach for a snack, pause and ask, “What am I really feeling?” Journaling or taking a moment to breathe can help break the cycle.
