You Deserve More Than a Legacy of Exhaustion
š©āš¼ Praised for Holding It All Together...
Women are often applauded for multitasking.
For putting others first.
For keeping everything runningāquietly, seamlessly.
Just look at obituaries:
šļø āShe never thought of herself.ā
šļø āShe always put others before herself.ā
šļø āShe was the glue that held everything together.ā
But letās get real for a moment:
It doesnāt have to be this way.
You deserve more than a legacy of exhaustion.
You deserve to breatheāright now.
š¬ āDone is better than perfect.ā ā Sheryl Sandberg
š§ That List in Your Head? Itās Not Multitasking
Right now, you might be running through mental tabs like:
Whatās for dinner?
Who needs what?
What appointments are coming up?
What needs restocking, fixing, booking, remembering?
Letās call it what it is:
Mental load ā the invisible juggling act that keeps everything afloat.
Weāre praised for being organised, efficient, and caring.
But often, it costs us our peace, our time, our energy.
We notice, we remember, we plan.
And sometimes we ask:
Why does no one else see what I see?
Because:
š The mental load is invisibleāunless we name it.
š It remains heavyāunless we share it.
š Boundaries Are Not Selfish
Setting boundaries begins with saying:
āI cannot keep carrying all of this.ā
It looks like:
Expressing what you need
Asking for support
Letting go of perfectionism
Releasing guilt around delegating
š¬ āAlmost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes⦠including you.ā ā Anne Lamott
ā
Let your partner in.
ā
Let others step up.
ā
Let the mental load become a shared responsibility.
š So this year?
Let someone else organise Motherās Dayāeven if youāre not a mum.
You still deserve to be celebrated.
You have done more than enough.
š
And from here on, plan to share the load all year round.
Because you deserve space to breatheāevery single day, not just once a year.
⨠You Donāt Need to Prove Your Value by Doing It All
If youāre ready to:
Set boundaries
Meet your own needs
Rebuild your energyāwithout guilt
Then youāre not alone.
