What inspired you to champion wellness and healing?

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help people. At just 17, I began my nursing degree, driven by the desire to make a difference and inspired, somewhat romantically, after watching Pearl Harbour and seeing the raw courage of those in healthcare. As a child I also loved bandaging up my animals and caring for them as if they were my ‘Patients’, so my mother suggested that I study nursing once I graduated from high-school. I threw myself into the world of emergency nursing, believing deeply in the value of modern medicine. But as the years passed, I started to see the gaps. So many patients were returning again and again, never truly healing, just surviving. It was heartbreaking to witness people surrender their power and wait until crisis point before taking action. I knew in my gut: we needed to change how we approached health. I didn’t just want to treat disease, I wanted to inspire prevention, empowerment and holistic healing. Then, after giving birth to my twin boys, the cracks in my own health started to show. I battled hormonal imbalances, gut issues and relentless anxiety. I turned to the very system I had dedicated over a decade of my life to and yet, it barely scratched the surface of what I was experiencing. The answers were clinical, but they weren’t complete. It was during my yoga teacher training and further studies in Ayurveda that I discovered a different way, one that saw me as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Ayurveda didn’t just offer a treatment plan, it offered me a path back to myself. It was transformative in all aspects - spiritually, emotionally and physically. And in that moment, I knew: this is what I’m here to do. My dharma became clear. I was meant to bridge the world of science and ancient wisdom, to support women who, like me, needed more than band-aid solutions. I wanted to create a space where healing is proactive, where women are seen and supported in all aspects of their health, and where ancient practices are made accessible to the modern woman. That’s why I champion wellness and healing - because I’ve lived the gaps, I’ve walked the path and I now have the tools to help others rise.

Tell us about a breakthrough moment in helping others feel whole.

There have been so many moments throughout my journey where I’ve witnessed profound shifts in my clients and students - those life-changing, goosebump moments that remind me exactly why I do this work. I’ve received countless heartfelt messages of gratitude over the years, many of which I share in my upcoming book (which, excitingly, will be out by the time the awards night rolls around!). But there’s one story that has really stuck with me and probably always will. A woman came to see me struggling with hormonal imbalances, poor body image and crippling self-doubt. What made her case particularly moving was that she was a mindset coach herself. She had a successful business and was known for helping others break through their mental blocks, yet behind the scenes, she was battling her own. She felt like an imposter in her own life. Through our work together, we addressed the physical imbalances first, supporting her hormones and helping her reconnect with her body through Ayurveda. But it was during our sessions using Ayurvedic psychology that everything started to shift on a deeper level. She had a massive breakthrough around her core limiting beliefs, ones she hadn’t even fully realised were holding her back. Watching her reclaim her power in that moment was nothing short of magic. That shift was so powerful, she decided to join my Ayurveda Alchemist Coaching Certification - My program that certifies women to become Ayurveda Holistic Health Coaches. Since graduating, she’s become a published author, a keynote speaker and has gone on to work with high-profile clients across the globe. Her business took off, but more importantly, she finally believed in herself. She still checks in with me every year for her health and for occasional business mentoring. Seeing her now - confident, aligned and living her purpose makes me truly happy and so proud of the work she has put in to transform her own life and step into her higher self. That’s the power of this work. It’s not just about fixing health problems, it’s about helping women return to their wholeness and remember who they truly are.

What philosophy drives your approach to wellbeing?

My philosophy is rooted in the union of ancient wisdom and modern science. After years in clinical practice as a nurse, Ayurvedic Womens Health Practitioner and doctor of Chinese medicine, I knew that true healing could never come from a generic prescription or onesize-fits-all approach. It was specifically when I immersed myself in the teachings of Ayurveda that everything really clicked and I saw the missing link in our healthcare model. Ayurveda taught me the art of personalised healing. At its core are the three doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha - biological energies that govern every function of the body and mind. Each person is born with a unique constitution, a specific blend of these doshas that shapes their health, personality and tendencies. When one or more doshas become imbalanced due to lifestyle, diet, stress or trauma, disease begins to manifest. By understanding a person’s doshic blueprint, we can tailor a lifestyle, nutritional and psychological protocol that truly supports who they are - not just what condition they have. It’s individualised, empowering and transformational. To support women in integrating this in a way that fits our modern lives, I created the higHERself™ method - a three-pillar framework designed to help women reconnect with their whole selves, step into their power and live a life of aligned purpose. 1. Health Alchemy – This pillar addresses the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and dharmic aspects of health. It’s where true holistic healing begins, not just relieving symptoms, but transforming how a woman relates to her body, her energy and her truth. 2. The Empowered Mind Paradigm – Here, we break free from old thought patterns and shift into a mindset that supports healing, success and embodiment. It’s about rewiring belief systems so that women can fully own their worth, reclaim their sovereignty and rise as their higHERself. This is done through the lens of Ayurvedic Psychology. 3. Dharmic Impact – This is where the magic lands in the real world. When women live in alignment with their purpose, both in their day-to-day lives and their deeper soul calling, they create ripple effects that extend far beyond themselves. They lead with integrity, clarity and courage. At the heart of it all is a belief that healing is not linear and it’s not just physical. It’s a journey of reconnection to self, to nature and to one’s unique purpose. And that’s the essence of my work: helping women remember who they truly are and guiding them to rise, whole and empowered.

How have you overcome obstacles in your wellness journey?

As I shared earlier, after the birth of my twin boys, I was hit hard with hormonal imbalances, gut issues and anxiety. It was a confusing and frustrating time, especially as a health professional who had spent over a decade helping others, but couldn’t seem to find answers for herself. But I now see that chapter of my life as a pivotal part of my dharma. Those struggles were not setbacks, they were initiations. Without them, I wouldn’t be here, guiding other women through similar challenges or even writing this award application. They cracked me open and led me to something so much deeper: my purpose. Like many women, I wore all the hats; practitioner, business owner, mum, wife and thought that burnout was just part of the deal. I pushed through fatigue, ignored the anxiety and tried to “keep it together” while my body sent louder and louder warning signs. Eventually, I hit a wall. And that wall became my turning point. The biggest shift came when I finally gave myself permission to pause. To truly listen. I invested in my own healing and began to unlearn the toxic patterns of hustle and perfectionism I had absorbed. Ayurveda gave me a framework to reconnect - not just with my health, but with my inner rhythm, my truth and my purpose. I built boundaries. I simplified my life. And through that, I healed - not just for me, but so I could show up fully for the women I now serve. Now, I teach my clients and students this truth: The real glow-up isn’t earned through hustle and burnout, it’s cultivated through conscious alignment and restoring your rhythm. When women reclaim their energy, their cycles and their truth - they don’t just heal… they rise and step into their higher self.

What does true wellbeing mean to you?

For me, true wellbeing is far deeper than physical health - it’s about living in conscious alignment with your whole being. In Ayurveda, we’re not just a body and mind. We are energetic, emotional, spiritual and purposeful beings. And when we neglect any one of these layers, we fragment. That’s why in my work and in my own life, I centre the five pillars of health: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and dharmic wellbeing. Dharmic health, our connection to purpose, is the one element I find most practitioners overlook. And yet, it was the most transformative piece for me. When I began to nurture my dharma, everything shifted. I no longer felt like I was pushing or proving. I was simply living in alignment. That alignment became my medicine. Ayurveda teaches that life has four key aims: Dharma – fulfilling your life’s purpose Artha – creating the resources and stability to live well Kama – experiencing joy, pleasure, and meaningful relationships Moksha – liberation and spiritual growth True wellbeing, then, is having the clarity, energy and groundedness to move through life with all four of these in balance. It’s not just about “feeling good” - it’s about living well and consciously, every day. It’s the ability to make empowered decisions. To set healthy boundaries. To have your basic needs met - clean water, wholesome food, rest, safety - so that your nervous system can finally exhale. It’s honouring your cycle, your energy and your intuition. My higHERself™ method embodies this philosophy. Through Health Alchemy, The Empowered Mind Paradigm, and Dharmic Impact, we help women rise into their highest self - not by adding more to their plate, but by coming home to who they truly are. To me, wellbeing is sovereignty. It’s not merely the absence of disease, It’s the freedom to live in rhythm with your nature and the strength to express your truth - unapologetically, joyfully and on purpose. Thank you for reading my application, I have truly shared my thought from my heart.
