Everyday Hands Creation Award
1. What do you create, and what inspired you to start?
I create hands-on, confidence-boosting skincare and makeup experiences that help women over 40 feel radiant in their own skin. My core service, Your Signature Look, is more than a makeover—it’s a deeply personalised journey where women discover the colours, techniques, and routines that genuinely suit them, using high-performing products that nourish the skin and enhance natural beauty.
My inspiration came from my own transformation. For years, I hid behind makeup to mask the skin I was ashamed of. I felt lost, overwhelmed by choices at beauty counters, and tired of products that didn’t deliver. But everything changed when I discovered a skincare routine that actually worked—and with it, a sense of self-worth I hadn’t felt in decades. That shift inspired me to get certified as a Makeup Artist and Skin Profiler so I could empower other women with the same tools, knowledge, and belief in themselves.
Now, I work with everyday women—many navigating menopause, sensitivity, or self-doubt—helping them go from confused and frustrated to glowing with confidence. It’s not just about makeup. It’s about creating a turning point, the way someone once did for me.
2. How does your creativity serve others or bring joy?
My creativity is a gift I share to help women rediscover theirs. I serve by simplifying beauty—demystifying skincare and makeup for women who’ve felt ignored by mainstream beauty marketing. In my studio or online sessions, I create a nurturing space where women feel safe to try, learn, laugh, and see themselves differently.
I use colour, technique, and personalised routines to bring joy back to beauty. Whether it’s finding the perfect foundation match or seeing fine lines soften with a resurfacer and eye cream, I live for the sparkle in someone’s eyes when they realise, “I can actually do this!”
I’ve worked with bridesmaids, teachers, cancer survivors, and busy mums who haven't prioritised themselves in years. Creativity, to me, is the art of listening, guiding, and tailoring each session like a bespoke experience. Even through small touches—like remembering their favourite shade or helping them recreate a look for an event—I infuse every interaction with intention.
The joy I bring isn’t fleeting. It’s the kind that lingers when they catch their reflection and smile… not just at how they look, but at how they feel inside. That’s the power of what I create—and why I keep doing it.
3. What personal values show up in your craft?
Compassion, authenticity, empowerment, and integrity are at the heart of everything I do. I know what it’s like to feel invisible or unsure about where to start with skincare and self-care—so I meet every woman where she is, without judgment.
Authenticity matters to me. I don’t promote unrealistic beauty standards or quick fixes. I focus on real results, honest guidance, and personalised support, using clean, cruelty-free products that align with my values. I teach from lived experience, not just training manuals. That’s why women trust me—not just as a makeup artist, but as someone who genuinely cares.
Empowerment shows up in how I educate my clients. I don’t just apply makeup; I show them how to recreate it. I explain why a product works for their skin type or how layering skincare can act like a personal trainer for their skin. I want them to leave feeling equipped, not dependent.
Integrity means I lead with what’s best for the client—not what’s easiest to sell. I value transparency, follow-up, and long-term relationships. Many of my customers return months or even years later, remembering how I made them feel seen and supported.
My work is more than a service. It’s an extension of my personal values in action—helping women feel more like themselves, one session at a time.
4. Tell us about a project that holds deep meaning for you.
One of the most meaningful projects I've launched is a partnership with the Global Woman Peace Foundation, where I donate 100% of the profits from a curated collection of beauty products to support survivors of gender-based violence.
This initiative was born out of a conversation with a woman named Rosa, whose strength and story moved me deeply. It reminded me that beauty and business can be powerful tools for healing, advocacy, and change. This isn’t just about sales—it’s about using what’s in my hands to support women who need more than just makeup; they need dignity, hope, and opportunity.
This project also connected my local business with a global cause, uniting women from all walks of life under the shared value of sisterhood. Every customer who purchases from this fundraising collection knows they’re making a difference, and I keep them updated with real stories, milestones, and impact.
I’ve also had customers who’ve experienced trauma find empowerment through skincare and self-care again. Seeing how my hands-on sessions have helped them feel safe, seen, and beautiful is something I’ll never take for granted. This project reminds me that when women rise, we all rise—and even small actions can spark big change.
5. How has creativity transformed your own life or healing journey?
Creativity gave me back my voice—and my confidence.
Before this business, I struggled with social anxiety, shyness, and feeling unworthy of being seen. I often hid behind makeup not to express myself, but to mask what I felt I lacked. My skin told a story I was ashamed of. But when I discovered a skincare routine that worked, something shifted. My skin glowed. People noticed. For the first time, I felt confident going bare-faced. That moment was life-changing—and it opened the door to everything else.
I channelled that transformation into learning, becoming a certified makeup artist and skin profiler. Creativity became my way of reconnecting with myself and helping others do the same.
Now, I feel like the woman I used to envy. Not because of how I look, but because I’ve found purpose, pride, and freedom in being me. I’m no longer afraid of showing up on camera, speaking to groups, or mentoring other women. I’ve healed old wounds through helping others—and each makeover, each skincare call, is a chance to pay that forward.
Creativity, for me, isn’t just about beauty—it’s about becoming whole. It’s how I reclaimed lost years, rewrote my story, and built a business that helps other women rediscover their own glow.
Empowered Online Award
1. What inspired you to step into the online space?
I stepped into the online space because I realised the confidence transformation I was creating in person needed to reach women beyond my local area. After years of struggling with my own skin and self-worth, I finally found products and a routine that worked—and it changed everything. But I knew I wasn’t the only woman feeling overwhelmed, insecure, or invisible. Many of the women I serve are busy mums, carers, or professionals who don’t have time to figure out skincare or makeup.
Going online allowed me to meet them where they are—on their phones, in their homes, in their moment of need. I wanted women over 40 to know that confidence doesn’t expire, and they don’t have to figure it out alone.
Through Zoom consultations, Facebook Lives, tutorials, and DMs, I could bring my hands-on support into women’s lives nationwide. It wasn’t just about convenience—it was about connection. The online space gave me a platform to share my story, inspire others, and turn education into empowerment.
2. What were your biggest fears or challenges going digital?
My biggest fear was being seen. I was confident in one-on-one conversations, but going live on camera, posting selfies, or recording tutorials triggered deep insecurities. What if I stumbled? What if I looked foolish? What if no one watched?
I also feared the tech side. Automation, CRMs, websites, email marketing—it all felt overwhelming, especially with ADHD. I'd overthink, get stuck in the backend, and second-guess everything.
But I learned that perfection wasn’t required—authenticity was. Once I started showing up raw and real, my audience grew. They didn’t want filters; they wanted someone who understood what they were going through. And every step I took, even scared, helped me grow in confidence.
I’ve faced challenges—algorithms, burnout, comparison—but I’ve found my rhythm. Now, I see the online space not as something to fear, but as a powerful tool to serve, connect, and lead.
3. How has your online presence created impact or change?
My online presence has become a lifeline for women over 40 who feel lost in the world of skincare and beauty. Through my digital content, I’ve helped hundreds of women finally understand their skin, find products that truly work, and fall in love with their reflection again.
The impact goes beyond makeup tips. Women tell me they feel seen, heard, and supported. They’ve gone from hiding behind makeup to confidently showing up on Zoom calls, dating again, or simply enjoying their reflection in the mirror. One woman even said, “You gave me back 10 years of self-esteem.”
I’ve also created online tools like my GlowUp Guide and Your Signature Look Toolkit to educate and empower women at their own pace. My business opportunity info sessions on Zoom have inspired women to start their own beauty businesses and believe they can be more than just customers—they can be leaders.
By sharing my journey and knowledge online, I’ve built a brand that uplifts, educates, and reminds women that beauty begins the moment they start believing in themselves.
4. What platforms, tools, or strategies helped you own your digital voice?
Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom have been my digital home base—but it’s the tools behind the scenes that brought it all together. Using automation platforms like AwesomeCRM and Make helped me simplify customer follow-ups, email marketing, and lead funnels so I could focus on showing up and serving.
Canva gave me confidence to create professional-looking graphics that matched my brand without needing a design degree. TidyCal made booking sessions a breeze. YouTube allowed me to share skincare and makeup tutorials I could repurpose across platforms.
The real strategy? Consistency with compassion. I focused on storytelling, showing behind-the-scenes snippets of real life, and creating educational content that solved problems. I committed to giving value first—whether someone bought from me or not. That built trust and loyalty.
What helped me truly own my voice was leaning into my why. When I stopped trying to look like a “beauty influencer” and just spoke to the women I care about—like a friend—it all clicked. My audience doesn’t want perfect. They want real.
5. What lessons would you share with women hesitant to embrace technology?
You don’t need to know everything—you just need to start. Technology can feel overwhelming, but it’s just a tool. You already have the heart, the wisdom, and the story. The online space is just a way to share it further.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that being visible isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being relatable. Your imperfections make you approachable. Showing up as yourself builds real connections, especially in a world saturated with filters and fakery.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help or use beginner-friendly tools. Automations and CRMs can sound scary, but once they’re set up, they give you more time and energy to focus on your passion.
And remember: confidence comes from doing. Each post, each video, each reply makes the next one easier. Technology didn’t just grow my business—it helped me grow into the woman I used to admire.
Start small. Stay curious. You’re more capable than you think—and the women waiting to hear your voice
