Leap of Faith Award
1. What leap did you take that changed your life forever?
The leap that changed everything was leaving the safety of my old business and stepping into my purpose: building a business rooted in feminine leadership, identity, and self-trust. I didn’t have all the answers. I didn’t have a roadmap. But I had a deep knowing that I was meant for more — not just success, but alignment. I walked away from what I knew to create a life that felt like me, and in doing so, became the woman I had always been seeking.
2. What emotions did you battle before taking the leap?
I battled with fear, guilt and self-doubt to name a few. Fear that I was being irresponsible. Guilt for wanting more than what I had been building for over 10 years. And doubt that maybe I wasn’t cut out for this that I’d fall flat on my face and get the I knew she couldn’t do it, looks. I also had to let go of needing permission, approval, and external proof. That was the real battle: unhooking from expectations and learning to trust my own voice.
3. What was the first sign you were on the right path?
The first sign was in the joy I felt, the shifts in my sense of purpose when I saw the growth and expansion my clients were having. It was like I’d found a missing part of me.
4. How has this decision inspired others around you?
Me choosing to be brave has inspired many women to actually take stock and give themselves the permission to question if what they are doing what is right for them. One of my friends decided to become a coach herself after being in HR, another went back to uni to study counselling after being in event management all her life plus the countless men & women who I connect with online who tell me how I have inspired them to look at themselves & their lives differently.
5. If you could go back, what would you tell yourself before you jumped?
You don’t need to know all the answers right now. Just start. Growth isn’t linear, one day you will feel like you’re absolutely killing it and the next you will feel like a failure. Its all part of the journey, setbacks, challenges & so called failures are lessons not signs from the universe you’re on the wrong path. The more you lean into the fear and choose courage, the easier it gets to face the next challenge or hurdle. You can actually learn to appreciate change instead of fear it.
Trusted Mentor and Coach Award
1. Why did you first step into mentorship or coaching?
My coaching journey formed after closing down my business and wondering what now? I felt lost, unsure and knew that whatever I did had to have real meaning to me. I remembered hiring a coach in my business who helped me not only get clear on direction & strategies but with the self doubt & overwhelm. I admired her for the work she did and I knew that was my calling. I wanted to help women create a business that feels good, gives them the freedom & flexibility they are looking for without going through the feelings of helplessness, self doubt and that you have no one to ask for help.
2. What philosophy or values guide how you mentor others?
I am a strong believer in creating a business that is fulfilling, supports your desire for self expression, aligns with your values and gives you joy. Oh and plenty of money, of course J
3. Tell us about a mentee/client transformation you're proud of.
One of my long term clients is a powerhouse of a woman. She built a disability service business from the ground up in a way that values the clients and staff over politics. Her motto is all about compassion. When we started working together the business was just a dream. We started with setting the goals, creating an action plan and worked on her limiting beliefs each step of the way. 14 months on she has a thriving business, has been able to leave her secure government job and is looking at expansion. We still work together now on next steps, her leadership skills and setting up the right systems and strategies.
4. How do you continue to grow so you can serve better?
One of my values is growth. I am always looking for ways to learn & evolve so I can lead & mentor my clients in bigger & better ways. I have my own coach, I am an avid reader and love connecting with other women in business.
5. What advice do you have for women stepping into leadership roles?
Being a good leader starts with you. When you know how to lead yourself first, trust yourself and know yourself you will lead with integrity. A good leader is in the trenches, inspiring and motivating not forcing, pushing and demanding.
